Personal Background

I was born and raised in the New York City borough of Queens (Bellerose, to be specific). After attending public schools (PS 133, PS 172 and Martin Van Buren High School), I studied at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in TV/Radio Communications in 1981.

Fortunate to already be situated in "The Big Apple", I began my post-collegiate career as a publicist in firms specializing in the entertainment industry. In 1983 I began a love affair with the world of soap operas (both daytime and primetime) that lasted nearly two decades. As an editor at various publications devoted to this genre, I had the opportunity to meet and interview scores of actors, producers, writers and directors, and to attend industry functions such as The Daytime Emmy Awards. (I was in the audience the night Susan Lucci finally took home the gold statue.) While working as the senior editor of Soap Opera Weekly magazine, I was tapped to edit the hardcover book "Love and Dishes: The Soap Opera Cookbook " (Hearst, 1996), featuring recipes, anecdotes and biographies of soap opera actors popular at the time. Little did I know how useful my journalistic and public relations skills would be once I became a Realtor.

Fast forward to 2002. My husband, three daughters and I (an English Setter would later join the household) are now happily ensconsed on the Connecticut Shoreline in Madison. My days as a journalist behind me, I decided to pursue a career in real estate. Given my previous occupations, I'm what you call a People Person -- I truly enjoy meeting new people, and finding out what makes them tick. I've found that this is an absolute must when a Realtor works with a client. In order to find you the perfect house (or to assist you with the one you're marketing), I have to know who you are, in order to provide the best service possible.
